CES Day 4: A last look at the Kodak booth
Things are wrapping up here at CES. Before I head out, because some folks asked to see more pictures from Kodak, I took a few more shots around the booth.

A big theme this year was "Made to be made your own". Many products can be personalized to suit your preferences.
Take the new V803's for example... they come in eight colors!
I liked this display area that featured some of these new colors. Each pedestal had a colored shade above it and the products displayed were in that color family.

Here are two cameras that were sitting on the color pedestals... one with a green skin and one with a red skin. They look so different with the skins on!

Cool straps and camera cases are another way to personalize your camera.

I thought this EasyShare350 Photo Printer looked pretty slick. It's kinda what I always thought the black boxes on airplanes looked like.

There was a section of the booth dedicated to Picture Kiosks. I watched a demo for this kiosk which will be out later this year. It will be able to take a series of your pictures and create a slideshow, complete with music and transitions and burn it to a DVD. Very cool.
The custom yellow trash can is not included.
CES Day 4: A couple last photo products
It's the last day here at CES and it has cleared out considerably. I did see two more interesting photography related products.

Brother has a software package that will convert a photograph into an embroidery pattern that one of their sewing machines can then stitch onto fabric. I am picturing denim jackets with Oscar's portrait stitched onto the back.

Trexta has a booth here, and I discovered they make cases for some of our cameras. I like the little pocket for carrying a lens cloth.
CES Day 4: Booth attractions
There are so many booths here at CES, each company has to come up with something to make themselves stand out and draw visitors to their booth. Here are a few I noticed.

These little do-dads look like apple cores and are aptly named Cores. I think they are great for holding your ear phone cords. What really drew me to the booth was the giant replica of a Core. I could use a little Core for my ear phones and the giant one to hold my garden hose in the backyard.
San Disk had the Lil Monsta roaming around their booth. People were standing in line to get their picture taken with Lil Monsta.
If you happened to have your heart set on one of the many huge flat screen tv's that were here, you could purchase one of the used floor models.

This booth had an oxygen bar to help you get through the vast amount of floor space there is to see.

I thought this was pretty cool... mist messaging. Words were projected onto a wall of mist.

And finally, what a lot of folks are on the look out for... giveaways. Pens, lanyards, bags and if you are lucky, you can find a cute little stuffed character like this one at the Newman MoMo booth.
CES Day 3: More cool photography products
Just when I think I have seen everything, there is more around the corner. Here are some more interesting products for photographers.
This little gizmo... the Driinn, is meant to hold your cell phone while it is charging, but I think it is just as handy for holding a digital camera while it's charging. The holder hangs between the battery charger and the wall socket. It provides support for a digital camera and convenient storage for the charging cord. It would keep my camera and charge cord off the floor, off the counter and out of the way. And most importantly... it comes in pink.
Here is another great accessory, Spudz. The name makes me think of potatoes, but actually Spudz is a micro fiber cloth in a storage pouch with a snap hook to attach to your camera or camera case. That way you always have a way to keep your lens dust and finger print free.
The XL Spudz are 18% gray so you could use it to set the white balance on your camera.
I think they would be good for attaching to an eyeglass case too... my glasses are always smudged.

This is a picture of my V705 trying out the Popabrella. Popabrella is an umbrella that will attach to your tripod to protect your camera from rain, snow and sun glare. I was a little nervous about sticking my camera in under the shower head but it worked great!
The Probrella's also have a silver underside so they could be used as reflectors.
CES Day 3: More cool products
There are not only cool photography products here at CES but so many innovative ideas I can't help but share.

This is a Wildcharger pad. You can place it on any flat surface and then lay your electronic device on top to charge the battery. Right now you have to use a kit to make your device compatible with the pad, but imagine if all your stuff was enabled to work with it. You could come home and empty your bag right onto the pad, iPod, cell phone, digital camera and charge them all.

I saw several booths with decorative crystals like these from Celluxury. They are typically used for blinging up cellphones and iPods. I think they would look cool on my digital camera! I want to put my initials on my pink V705 with some hot pink crystals like the V570s all the Best Actress nominees received at the Academy Awards. Maybe you could put them on our new digital picture frames too!

An interesting display will always catch my eye. I had to look closer and see what this head had on it. It is a Nu Dolphin, a waterproof MP3 player you can wear when swimming. I have seen a lot of water proof stuff here and I think it is a great idea. Not just for water sports but really rainy days.

And here is my mention of robots for the day... WowWee's RoboPanda. He comes with a stuffed panda that he can recognize and talk to. I know here it looks like he is squeezing the snot out of the stuffed panda's head but really he was quite cute and has some amazing capabilites like IR vision and stereo sound that lets him track obects, avoid obstacles and pinpoint sound sources. Robopanda sits, crawls, walks on all fours, rolls over and responds with mood behaviors. The closest I am going to get to having the real thing.
CES Day 2: Things I would like to take home with me
Here are some more interesting things that have caught my eye at CES today.
iRobot has made a programmable robot called iRobot Create. It looks like a Roomba but it is actually a robot that you can control by writing software for it. They had on display a few of the robots that their employees designed. My favorite was the Bionic Hamster. A hamster is located on top of the Create robot, inside a hamster ball. By running in the hamster ball, the hamster will control where the robot moves, and the robot €™s speed. How cool is that?
Of course the website notes that "Computer programming experience is required." I have none to speak of so that dashed any hopes I had of making a robot to do my dishes.

I had no idea what these were but I wanted one immediately. Nabaztag is a rabbit with a Wi-Fi card so he can connect to the internet. Once connected he can alert you to messages, read webpages, play your podcasts and a bunch of other stuff. And he is cute!
