Bloggers on their way to BlogHer!

Kodak recently had a contest for bloggers where the prize is a "scholarship" - a trip to this years BlogHer conference in Chicago!

I love blogs, bloggers and BlogHer, so I am excited for everyone! Meet the winners!

Emily Elling
Blog: DesignHER Momma
Blogging since: I have been blogging a little over 3 years!?
Why are you looking forward to BlogHer?: This Kodak scholarship means the world to me. I have to admit, in this economy my work as an Corporate Interior Designer has really slowed down. By winning this scholarship I feel like a weight has been lifted because going to BlogHER will not be a financial burden on my family. Because taking pictures and preserving memories is so important to me, Kodak is a perfect company for me to be sponsored by. I'm excited to go to my first ever BlogHER! Writing and connecting with other women through blogging has really become a passion to me. I'm very much looking forward to meeting some amazing women and hopefully learning a thing or two along the way.

Rachel Matthews
Blog: A Southern Fairytale: From The Land of Monkeys and Princesses
Blogging since: I've been blogging for roughly 1 1/2 years?
Why are you looking forward to BlogHer?: Being able to go to BlogHer means so much to me because I've connected with so many women through their blogs.  Whether it's their humor, our shared interests or our differences, our hearts have connected.  I've shared laughs, losses, tears, stories and yet, I've never seen them, touched them or spoken to them.  The opportunity to finally reach out and hug them, hold a hand, hear their laughter is a joy beyond measure.

Blogging since:blogging since Nov 2008?
Why are you looking forward to BlogHer?: I am so excited to go to Blogher and learn from the best and spend time "in real life" with all my bloggy friends! This means the world to me!  I am completely overjoyed!

Jill Carin
Blog: Cool Photo Ideas (http://www.coolphotoideas.com)?
Blogging since: I have been blogging in some capacity for about 3 years?
Why are you looking forward to BlogHer?: Gaining more advanced technical knowledge and building relationships with like minded bloggers are my reasons for attending Blogher. The scholarship by Kodak will allow me to accrue the tools needed to not only keep up with the latest industry trends but how to build "brand" loyalty for not only my blog , but the sponsors who support me!

Memorial Day Photos

In honor of Memorial Day here is today's Picture of the Day and a look back at Memorial Day photos years passed.

Arlington by Tina Reed

"We made a quick stop at Arlington on our way to visit our son who was returning from a 7 month deployment in Kuwait and saw this ceremony taking place and it made us appreciate him and all the rest of the soldiers even more."

Endure & Seen by Melissa Zavadil

"This is the third in a series of four that goes with a poem that I wrote in honor of our troops. Fly my son fly free, Fly as high as you can believe, You are not trapped, you can dream... Because of all the sacrifice a common man has-- Endured & Seen."

Vietnam Memorial by Denise Johnson

"This picture is special because it not only represents the Vietnam War, but is for all soldiers-especially those still fighting for our freedom. It is a reminder that we should say thank you to all soldiers since they are someones son/daughter, family or friend - and they risk their lives for us daily."

The Unknowns by Noel Baebler

"Tomb of the Unknowns, Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C."

Kodak and Scrapbook Expo

This year Kodak is working with Scrapbook Expo and I went to check one of the shows out.

My first scrapbook - photos and dental badges!

I have been scrapbooking since I was seven or eight so I was pretty excited to go.

Scrapbook Expo has an area where vendors set up and sell the newest papers, cutters and other scrapbook supplies.

Lots of workshops are offered for scrapbookers to get up to date on the latest techniques.

The real fun is in the all day crops where scrapbookers can set up and work on their scrapbooks together. Kodak has an area set up where the scrapbookers are invited to use Kodak All-in-One Printers to print photos for their printers.

I enjoyed walking around and talking to the scrapbookers and seeing what they were working on.

These scrapbookers were having a blast! I talked to several scrapbookers about scrapbooking, photography and the Kodak Printers... check out this video.

Behind the scenes at the Celebrity Apprentice Finale

For the second consecutive season in a row, Kodak was on The Celebrity Apprentice. Not only was Kodak on the show, but it was on the exciting season finale! Several Kodakers were at the taping and have exclusive behind the scenes insights - be sure to check out what Cathy, Mike and Bill have to say!

Kodak CMO Jeff Hayzlett pitched the task to the celebrity teams and was on hand throughout, so I interviewed him at each step to get his take on what was going on.

The real star of the show was the Kodak W1020 Digital Picture Frame. Here Jeff Hayzlett poses with one of the frames the celebrities were practicing on. The celebrity teams were challenged to integrate the Kodak Digital Frames into their task.

Note that Jeff required makeup for his tv appearance while the frames did not.

Also seen in the finale are two very cool Kodak wrapped city buses, one for each team.

The celebrity teams were to use the Kodak buses to sell tickets to their final task party.

Each bus was outfitted inside with wireless Kodak Digital Frames with photo slideshows.

The Kodak team had no idea what the outcome of the season finale was really going to be, but we definitely knew it was going to be action packed!
