Winners, Printers, Racing and More

This weekend was the unveiling of the winning paint scheme for Ink Ryan's Ride. The Kodak No.12 Dodge sat in front of the Kodak Theatre completely concealed until the designer, Raymond VanDerLinden pulled back the cover.

I interviewed Ray at the Busch Series race that evening about his design.

Also on display at the Kodak Theatre was the actual Nextel Cup trophy! I was especially impressed with the giant Tiffany bag it came in.

We had some other activities going on for folks that stopped to admire the car. Three of our Kodak All-in-One printers were on site so we could print pictures of fans with the Kodak car. Mother and daughter, Jasleen and Satinder, were ready to take a printer home that day! Chris, seen here posing with my co-worker Paula, was visiting all the way from Austrailia and was ready to order one too!

We were also giving away a pair of NASCAR race tickets for each old inkjet printer brought in. We recycled the old printers and some fans got to go to the SHARP Aquos race the next day.

These pictures don't show how incredibly hot it was in Hollywood. Southern California was having a major heat wave while we were there.

This shot is to prove that we really were in Hollywood.

The Kodak No.12 sported the winning paint scheme on the track Sunday. Ryan Newman wasn't able to finish the race due to some mechanical trouble. He drove great though and it was so cool to see the design whizzing by.

We didn't win, but at least there were fireworks at the the end of the race.
